Commercials, skills & the typeface anatomy
Today we discussed briefly about 3 topics. The first topic was about commercials. Commercials are commonly known as 30 seconds art, which is definitely true as it takes a lot of patience and effort to put together. Commercials are relatively put in between TV shows to give viewers a break. Although it appears simple to the eye, commercials are actually very difficult to produce and takes lots of money and time. Commercials in the Philippines would probably cost around 50 million Php. A storyboard is created first and then shooting/filming proceeds. After the shooting process is done, video editors will now make magic and create awesome commercials by enhancing colors, vividness and clarity; and by adding computer graphics.
The second one is the importance of skills. Skills are very essential in an individual as a whole. Skills take us far places in life. An individual who has the capacity to innovate or think of new ideas, but doesn't have the skills to bring them to life, would probably be less preferred over skilled people as skills are the primary factor that help us create the perfect projects.
The last topic is about the anatomy of a typeface. To hint a simple explanation of the parts of a typeface, here is a photo which I made during the class,
