1st class
During the class, I learned various things/factors which compromise a (graphic)designer. The very first thing that was introduced to us was about designers being problem solvers. Designers solve problems, they find ways to work around the corner. Second, I learned that asking questions is important. ALWAYS ASK. We should know the preferred settings/ details of the client first before proceeding to create the given task. At the end of the day, it's the customer's preference that will be followed. I also learned about making a creative brief which is a 1 page summary of the project. A creative brief must include the project name, the client, description of the project, the audience, benchmarks, budget and goals. The description of the project must contain the steps to be made in achieving the goals. It should define what the project is all about and how you plan to do it. The audience refers to the target customers of the project or the client. It may be teens, adults, female, male, etc. A benchmark is somewhat your inspiration for making the project. It is what you'd like the project to turn out or something similar, at least. The budget refers to the allotted money for the project. Budget may be limited so we have to plan the project wisely. The goals are the things that the client wants or plans to achieve. These may be goals for higher profit, to make the shop/product well-known, to attract customers, and the like.
